Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 2 (400)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"

Edited by А.А. Аlekseeva, PhD in Geography

The issue includes the papers that deal with studying a wide range of scientific and practical problems of hydrometeorological forecasting. Application of neural network algorithms for determining cloud liquid water content over the water surface, predicting the water regime with various lead times, as well as accelerating the digital transformation of operational hydrology are considered. The papers related to studying jet streams in the Southern Hemisphere, the features of atmospheric circulation over the Svalbard archipelago, automatic correction of 12-hour precipitation retrieved from the Himawari-9 geostationary satellite, and anomalies of the 2024 summer season over the territory of Northern Eurasia are presented. Marine and hydrological forecasting is discussed in the papers dealing with the assessment of satellite altimetry assimilation in the one-degree version of the NEMO model, the determination of the width of the spectrum of surface waves in the Black Sea, as well as the study of the factors governing the efficiency of using meteorological forecasts in river runoff prediction. An overview of the agrometeorological conditions of the 2024–2025 agricultural year is presented. Following the results of the 30th session of the North Eurasian Climate Outlook Forum, an overview paper on the state of the climate system in Northern Eurasia and a consensus forecast for the summer of 2026 are presented. The issue is of interest to both specialists and a wide range of people studying hydrometeorology.
