Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 2 (396)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"

Edited by А.А. Аlekseeva, PhD in Geography

The features of circulation in the Southern Hemisphere free atmosphere affecting aircraft flights are considered. The comparison of two systems for subseasonal ensemble forecasting based on the SL-AV model is given. Based on the individual cases observed in the Moscow region during the cold periods of 2023-2024, the formation environments of freezing rain and glaze and methods for their prediction are considered. An updated system for predicting pollutant concentrations in the Moscow region based on the CHIMERE-2023 chemistry-transport model is presented. The results of studying the chemical composition of snow cover in different geomorphological zones of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic are presented. According to the CMIP6 models, trends in average annual precipitation in the Azov-Black Sea region are calculated. The section of hydrological forecasts provides an overview of the activities of the World Meteorological Organization in the field of operational hydrology and recommendations for issuing probabilistic streamflow forecasts. The results of testing the technologies and methods recommended for adoption in 2024 by the Roshydromet Central Methodological Commission for Hydrometeorological and Heliogeophysical Forecasts are presented. The journal is interesting both for specialists and for a wide range of people studying hydrometeorology.
