Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 3 (389)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"
Edited by A.A. Vasiliev, Doctor of Geographical Sciences
The papers in the present issue deal with the studies of hydrometeorological processes and phenomena for the purpose of their prediction. The first paper deals with the verification of the radar precipitation nowcasting. Two other papers consider the simulation of climatic characteristics of precipitation over the Black Sea with the data of regional climate models and investigate the impact of atmospheric forcing on the large-scale structure of oceanographic fields. The section of hydrological forecasting presents the studies of changes in hydrological characteristics for the basins of the North Caucasian rivers, Yukon River (USA), and Zeravshan River (Tajikistan). The section of climate research considers the change in cloud characteristics on the territory of Russia and specific features of development of active convective processes in the North Caucasus and on the northeastern slope of the Lesser Caucasus.
All papers contain important scientific and practical results that may be used in modern methods for hydrometeorological forecasting. The issue is of interest both for specialists and for a wide range of people studying hydrometeorology.
