Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 2 (388)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"
Edited by E.S. Nesterov, Doctor of Geographical Sciences
A brief description of the COSMO-Ru2By configuration (the grid spacing is 2.2 km) of the COSMO model is given, which provides numerical weather forecasts for up to 48 hours for the regions in the European part of Russia and the Republic of Belarus, the results of estimating the accuracy of these forecasts are also presented. The wind gustiness parameterization is investigated in the problem of long-range forecasting of weather anomalies. Statistical estimates of the parameters of the atmospheric centers of action (location and intensity) in the Northern and Southern hemispheres are presented. The results of analyzing synoptic conditions of tornado occurrence in the Kursk region and nearby areas are provided. The results of improving algorithms for hail diagnosis based on DMRL-C radar network and numerical prediction data are presented. The results of the synoptic-statistical analysis of heat and cold waves of different duration and intensity in the Middle Volga region are discussed. A system of equations for forecasting storm surges in the Gulf of Finland is considered, which allows predicting the maximum level of water rise at the Neva River mouth with an error not exceeding 10%. The analysis of modern neural network models in the problems of hydrological forecasting is carried out. Changes in the data on pollutant emissions into the atmosphere over the Moscow region are analyzed.
