Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 1 (375)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"
Edited by E.S. Nesterov
The results of studies in different areas of hydrometeorology are presented. The atmospheric characteristics during the formation and evolution of severe convective structures in the European part of Russia and neighboring territories, as well as winter warm air intrusions to the western coast of the Strait of Tartary are analyzed. The intense cyclones in the Northwestern Pacific and the polar cyclones in the Arctic are studied. The results of numerical forecasts of precipitation, visibility, and fog are presented. The possibility of forecasting thunderstorms at Moscow airports using radar and lightning-detector information is discussed. The hydrological section presents methods for efficiency evaluation of river flow modeling and prediction and forecasts correcting. The climatic section is represented by the paper considering the vulnerability of pastures in southern Kazakhstan to climate change.
