Hydrometeorological Research and Forecasting, no. 2 (372)
"Proceedings of the Hydrometcenter of Russia"
Edited by M.V. Bolgov, E.S Nesterov
Summaries - (PDF)
The results of studies in different areas of hydrometeorology are presented. The results of testing the operational precipitation nowcasting system of the Hydrometcentre of Russia during the cold season based on data of nine radars located on the European territory of Russia are provided. The contribution of various factors to the occurrence of severe squalls is estimated. Data on the occurrence frequency of low clouds at 41 aerodromes in Asian Russia and the neighboring countries of the former USSR depending on wind direction and wind speed are analyzed. The movement and evolution of the group of three tropical cyclones in the Pacific Ocean and the influence of tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic on the formation of deep extratropical cyclones are investigated. The characteristics of seasonal and daily variations in surface ozone on the Crimean coast in 2009-2018 are presented. Based on the swell measurements off the Sakhalin coast, a method for the estimation of the time of the storm arrival to the observation point is proposed. A method for the automated short-range forecasting of water level in the basin of the Middle Ob and Lower Irtysh is described. The influence of weather conditions on the productivity of grain crops in the Republic of Tatarstan in 1995-2017 is analyzed.
